Our Brand

“Shifty is a nickname derived from the Austrian Celtic surname, Shifflett. With the Celtic heritage ingrained in the Shifty’s Brand we chose the Celtic knot symbolizing prosperity and abundance to represent our branding. Sharing this affirmation on the products we produce is our way of wishing prosperity and abundance upon your home.”

Mission Statement

We believe in leaving places better than we found them. Our goal is to bring people together through great food, and we do this while focusing on diverse, inclusive, sustainable practices. The wellness of our team, our communities, and the culture we cultivate is keystone to our success.

Shifty's Story

“As a retired high school biology teacher, Shifty always found joy in traveling to different locations and cultures to experience new foods, flavors, and cooking methods. Our neighbors and local farmers in Michigan strive to raise the best foods. As an avid outdoorsman, we spend endless hours afield in various conditions to provide for our family for the winter. It's important for many of us to provide good, clean food for our loved ones. Shifty often received seasonings for Christmas and birthday gifts as well as, purchasing hundreds of different rubs and seasonings. When seasoning quality foods, Shifty found that less is more. Working with high-quality ingredients, Shifty found himself applying these seasonings in smaller quantities to avoid overpowering the taste of these quality ingredients. The art of seasoning to enhance flavors rather than overpower them, led Shifty to branch out and create his own seasonings with the goal of complementing great food. Shifty developed Shifty’s Seasoning for those who enjoy the taste of good food.”
